Owner: Alan Reeve
Home Field: 221b Baker Street Mascot: The Nefarious Professor Moriarty Team Colors: Bakerloo Brown & Ivory Gents Leagues: Skid Row About Alan (smilingpolitely) Profession: Project Manager / New Store Opening Manager for Caffè Nero. Long hours but strong espresso on tap so it balances out…. Hobbies/Interests: I try and spend as much time as I can with my girls at the moment - they're 10 and 8 so I've got a couple more years before I become an embarrassment to them! They're both keen on building Harry Potter lego at the moment, so no problems there. What little 'free' time I have after that I tend to be quite a solitary creature.... Comics - DC and Vertigo stuff in particular. Reading - Philip K Dick, Vonnegut, Bukowski and many others. More of an armchair sports fan these days. And always time for a few logic puzzles - keeps the OCD in check! Sports Played: Used to be loads of cricket, a bit of soccer, squash and badminton - now it's just a bit of running and cycling..... Top Ten Albums/Artists (that shaped your life): The Cure - Disintegration Radiohead - The Bends Alice in Chains - Unplugged Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream Eels - Beautiful Freak Sonic Youth - Sister Sebadoh - III Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile Temple of the Dog Louden Wainwright III - So Damn Happy Favorite Gentlemanly Beer and/or Cocktail: Either straight up Bourbon, or a Godfather. Years Active in Fantasy Football: 8 overall - getting a bit more serious the last 3. Favorite/Most Hated NFL Teams: 49ers - and as such, Rams and Seahawks are the big rivals. No-one particularly 'hated' though. Favorite/Most Hated NFL Player of All Time: Favourite All time - Ronnie Lott / Current - Fred Warner - and it's got to be Vontaze Burfict, but Antonio Brown is closing the gap every time he speaks..... Favorite NFL Moment of All Time: Joe Montana to John Taylor to win Super Bowl XXIII. My first 49ers Super Bowl - I remember being up in the early hours watching it with my Dad, and him telling me I was wearing a hole in the carpet pacing up and down during that final drive. Good memories.... Extra Tidbits: I'm a country gentleman at heart - can often be found wandering around the Peak District at the weekend with wife Jen and the girls, along with a dopey Chocolate Labrador. Serving me well at the moment as I'm also a lifelong Tottenham fan, so being out somewhere far from an internet connection means I can restrict the predictable disappointment to a single result rather than getting the constant updates! |
